Mom begins to live on endless but futile hope. Dad unable to cope emotionally and financially turns into an alcoholic. The younger son lives through his youth completely unaware of what a normal family life would feel like. It’s very inspiring and encouraging in the end when the younger son does very well for himself and good times at last knock on this family’s door.
